It finished 27-26 to Munster in their Pool 1 clash at the AJ Bell Stadium.
Dave Kilcoyne crossed for the opening try of the game, after an early Danny Cipriani penalty, which Ian Keatley converted, handing Munster a 7-3 lead.
But Sale responded with tries from Magnus Lund and Johnny Leota, while Cipriani kicked two conversions and three penalties, to put the home side in control, of the game.
Munster then came back with tries from Andrew Conway & Conor Murray- both converted by Ian Keatley.
Another penalty from Cirpriani put Sale 26-21 in front.
However, Keatley had the last word- he kicked a penalty, followed by a late drop goal, to hand Anthony Foley's men all four points.
