It finished Ireland 24, France 9 with tries coming from Rob Kearney and Conor Murray in the second half adding to penalties from Jonathon Sexton and Ian Madigan.

Momentum switched between the sides throughout and there were worries in the Irish camp with serious looking injuries to Sexton and Paul O'Connell.

O'Connell is likely to be ruled out of the rest of the tournament, his final act in a green jersey attempting to shift a defensive ruck in Ireland's favour just before half-time.
