The Premier beat Clare in last night’s final in the Gaelic Grounds on a full time score of 3-19 to 1-20.
Goals from man of the match Oisín O’Donoghue, Cathal English and a penalty from Darragh McCarthy helped Tipp to victory and back-to-back Munster crowns.
Speaking after the game, manager Brendan Cummins said it was a tough battle but a great performance from his charges.
“Yeah its great now to be honest and it was always going to be the hard way. I mean that game in Sixmilebridge (when Tipp won by 3-21 to 0-21) was a once off and we knew it was going to fire up Clare as well and that’s exactly what we got.
“And in fairness to the lads I think when we were under pressure we suffered really well and then in the patches where we were able to express ourselves the inside-forwards did really well as well so that helped us get across the line.”
Tipperary go into the All-Ireland final on the weekend of May 31st to play the winners of Kilkenny and Dublin.
