The Tipperary U20 hurlers got back to winning ways in the Munster Championship last night.
The Premier beat Cork in SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on a full-time score of 1-20 to 2-11.
Tipp started strong with Paddy McCormack firing in a goal inside the opening five minutes with the visitors much improved from last week’s loss to Limerick.
Speaking after the full time whistle, Tipp manager Brendan Cummins said it was a much needed win.
“Yeah it is and I think Limerick were better than us last week. They were hungrier than us and fought us at every turn. And that was the plan tonight to get a performance – whatever about the result – the result was always going to look after itself.
“Right from the start when Adam Daly won the throw-in and Paddy got the goal it just settled us into the game. Jim Ryan was very good at centre-back – gave us that bit of extra stability back there as well. Overall I was very happy with the way the lads fought tonight.”
Next up for Tipp is a trip to Sixmilebridge to play Clare on April 16th.
