Tipp started brightly with a goal from Borrisoleigh’s Ray McCormack but Cork clawed their way into the game and led 0-12 to 1-5 at half time.

Goalkeeper Conor Grace was in great form for Tipp making three top class saves but overall the Leesider’s had too much firepower on the night, scoring 1-7 without reply in the last ten minutes.

Our Lady’s Templemore Harty and Croke Cup winner from the Borrisoleigh club Ray McCormack scored both goals for Tipp.

Afterwards Tipp manager and Drom Inch native Trevor Hasset said his players gave their all.
Clare face Waterford in the first playoff of the Munster Minor Football Championship this evening.

Throw-in at Cusack Park is at 6.30 – Tipperary await the winners in the next playoff round.
