Performing well in Thurles is very important to the Tipperary senior hurlers, according to manager Liam Cahill.
The Premier welcome last year’s All-Ireland finalists Cork to FBD Semple Stadium on Saturday for their league encounter at 7.30pm.
The Rebels have had big wins over Tipp in their last two meetings in Thurles, winning by 18 points last year and 12 points in 2022.
Speaking on this week’s Extra-Time, Liam Cahill said they will be looking to improve their home performance.
“Thurles is important to us, it’s really important to me and to the players that we perform in Thurles and we protect our status in Thurles in Semple Stadium every day we play.
“It does weigh heavy that we haven’t done it as much as we would like to have in the past but we’re going to really go at this on Saturday evening with whatever fifteen and subs that we use and try really get something from the match and build on the first couple of rounds of this National League and see can we shove on in to the latter stages of it with a chance of getting to the final.”
Tipp FM will have live commentary of Saturday night’s hurling with thanks to Arrabawn Stores.
That game is the second part of a double header in FBD Semple Stadium on Saturday night with the senior footballers taking on London at 5pm.
That game is also live on Tipp FM with thanks to Mother Hubbard’s family Restaurant, Cork Road, Cashel.
