Tipperary were impressive nine point winners over Clare in the Munster U20 Hurling Championship last night.
Goals proved the difference between the sides as the game in Sixmilebridge finished 3-21 to 21 points.
The Tipp goals came from Conor Martin with 2 and another from Paddy McCormack.
The Premier went into the game on the back of a defeat to Limerick and a win over Cork.
Speaking after the game manager Brendan Cummins told Tipp FM Sport that he was proud of their performance.
“They talk about a Lion’s Den – we knew that’s what we were coming into tonight. Our record against Clare at underage hasn’t been brilliant since 2009 so we asked the lads to get that performance.
“We got a few of the breaks there and that was the main thing for us. And as you say we got the goals which was obviously the difference there in the finish and that helped us along the line. But the work rate tonight all around the pitch was seriously good and that’s the standard we set for the boys and they set for themselves more importantly.”
