Seamus O’ Riain early games results

The wind played a large part in many of today’s games, seeing teams racking up huge scores in one half, only to see their opponents claw back in the second.

At a blustery McDonagh Park in Nenagh, there were two Seamus O Riain hurling quarter finals taking place.

In the early game Toomevara were up against Silvermines, and at half time Toomevara had a commanding lead built up – it was 13 points to 1.

However, that pattern continued in the second half with Toomevara running out convincing victors – 22 points to 1-6.

The 3 o’ clock throw in saw Templederry Kenyons up against Roscrea.

Templederry had the breeze in the first half, and at half time they led Roscrea 2-13 to 2-7.

However, the scales tipped in Roscrea’s favour in the second half, where they got off to a blistering start, scoring two goals early on.

That game finished up Roscrea 4-19 to Templederry Kenyon’s 2-19.

In the other two quarter finals, JK Bracken’s face Lorrha Dorrha in Cloughjordan, and Holycross Ballycahill play Clonakenny in the Ragg.

Both those games throw in at 5.30.

There was also one Seamus O Riain Relegation game down for decision this afternoon.

Moycarkey Borris were up against Borrisokane in Templemore.

At half time, Moycarkey-Borris led 2-9 to Borrisokane’s 1-6.

While Borrisokane did make a comeback of sorts, Moycarkey-Borris still ran out winners on a scoreline of 4-16 to 2-14.

The other relegation game sees Knockavilla Kikhams play Ballingarry in Cashel at 5 o’ clock.
