Ryan: Canning’s winning point was a ‘heartbreaker’

Michael Ryan has described Joe Canning’s winning point in the All Ireland Hurling semi-final as a ‘heartbreaker’.

The Tipperary Manager was speaking after his team were beaten by a single point at Croke Park by Galway – 0-22 to 1-18.

It looked like a draw would have been a fair result in a nip-and-tuck game that was as tight as expected where the number of times the scores were level were well into double figures.

But Joe Canning’s 11th point of the day was fired over under pressure from out by his right hand touchline.
