Cashel King Cormacs are into a Munster intermediate hurling semi-final.
The Tipperary premier intermediate champions beat Limerick’s Newcastle West by a point in yesterday’s quarter final in Newcastle West.
Cashel found themselves down by 5 points in the second half but 0-09 from Eoghan Connolly helped the West Tipp side to a 0-20 to 2-13 victory.
Speaking after the full time whistle, Cashel manager TJ Connolly praised his teams never say die attitude.
“Like I said to you after the county final this team has never died. They have gone to the wire all the time – we go to 60 minutes, maybe 65, and we said it – we’re just going to keep going.
“We won by a point – I thought we didn’t get off the bus for the first 8 or 9 minutes. The goal after 13 seconds was a sucker punch but we answered the call. We keep answering it and we’re in the next round of the Munster Championship.
“We’re pleased with some aspects and there’ll be other’s we’ll have to look at on the video tonight.”
Cashel will play Kerry’s Abbeydorney in the semi-final on November 17th with a venue to be decided.
The Kerry side had a 0-25 to 0-24 victory after extra-time over Waterford’s Brickey Rangers in their quarter-final tie yesterday.
