Goals made the difference between Tipp and Wexford in the National Hurling League semi-final.

Michael Ryan’s men ran out winners on a scoreline of 5-18 to 1-19 at Nowlan Park to set up a league decider against Galway next Sunday.

There were 2 goals apiece from brothers Noel and John McGrath with Brendan Maher also hitting the back of the net for Tipp.

Wexford manager Davy Fitzgerald could find himself in trouble after getting involved in an altercation with some of the Tipp players when he encroached on the pitch.

Galway booked their place in the decider with a 10 point win over Limerick.

Conor Cooney scored 1-4 for the Tribesmen as they ran out 1-21 to 1-11 winners at the Gaelic Grounds.

Joe Canning also notched eight points for Galway, who advance to their first final since 2010.

That final will be played at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick next Sunday at 3.30.
