Toomevara are going in search of first Tipperary senior hurling title in 16 years this weekend.
The Greyhounds take on Loughmore/Castleiney in this year’s final on Sunday at 3.45pm in FBD Semple Stadium.
While Sunday will be Loughmore’s 3rd final in five years, it will be a first for the majority of the Toomevara panel, with their last appearance coming back in 2008.
Toome manager Ken Dunne, who won 9 county senior medals as a player with the club, says he’s been telling the players to enjoy the build-up but be ready for a massive challenge.
“It’s important to enjoy the build-up, that’s what makes county finals so special, the colour and everything around it, the flags out and everybody in the parish gets involved.
“So (I have been saying) for them to enjoy it but also to get back in the field and stay doing what we’ve been doing for the last number of months and just really relishing the challenge because it’s going to be a huge challenge, they have to be ready for that.
“There are distractions obviously on county final day with parades and stuff like that but isn’t it a great place to be and it’ll be a great experience for them.”
