Former Cork All Star says Tipp will be too strong for the Rebels

All Ireland winner Seanie McGrath says he can’t see a Rebel victory in the Munster Hurling Championship opener against Tipperary on Sunday.

The former Cork selector was speaking on Extra Time with Ronan Quirke last night.

Tipp are sweating on the availability of Jason Forde who’s appeal is being heard by Central Appeals Committee this evening, as well as injury concerns like Patrick Bonner Maher.

Corner back Michael Cahill is the latest doubt due to a training ground hamstring strain.

McGrath says there’s good vibes coming from the Cork camp, but he doesn’t think they are quite ready to challenge the top teams in the heat of the championship yet.

However former Tipperary All Ireland winner Paddy Stapleton from Borrisoleigh told Extra Time that he can’t see Michael Ryan’s side running away with the game at Semple Stadium this weekend either.
