Tipp County Board won’t press Forde ban after appeal loss

Tipp Senior Hurling Manager Michael Ryan will have to plan for Sunday’s Championship opener without Jason Forde after he lost his appeal against his one match suspension.

The Silvermines club man took his case to the GAA’s Central Appeals Committee at Croke Park yesterday evening but the CAC backed the Central Hearings Committee’s decision to suspend the play for contributing to a melee when he clashed with Wexford manager Davy Fitzgerald during last month’s League quarter final.

Tipp have the option of appealing it further to the Independent Disputes Resolution Authority or the DRA but speaking to Tipp FM after the ruling County Board Secretary Tim Floyd who accompanied Forde to the hearing yesterday said they wont be taking this step.
