Thurles Sarsfields, Loughmore Castleiney, Moycarkey Borris and Toomevara will be in the hat for the County Senior Hurling semi-finals this evening.
Sars saw off the challenge of Nenagh Éire Óg while Loughmore overcame Kilruane MacDonaghs in their quarter final yesterday.
On Saturday Borris beat defending champions Kiladangan while Toom beat JK Brackens.
Thurles Sarsfields manager Padraic Maher says they were delighted to get past Nenagh.
“Especially after the last number of years with Nenagh its always been kind of toing and froing you know, its been a very close battle. We knew it was going to be tight again. Just delighted for the lads – they put a lot into it. We kind of let Nenagh back in – I think we were nine up and did they come back to three? So they were coming a bit but in fairness to the boys they fought back again and got a few vital scores and we managed just to keep our necks out in front.”
Loughmore’s Brian McGrath says they knew they were in for a tough battle against Kilruane.
“Any time you get into a quarter final its just about getting over that and getting into the semi final and it was no different there today we’ve played Kilruane the last couple of years and the same every year – tough, tough battles. You could see there today it was nip and tuck – we just got the few scores coming near the end and pulled away but up to the last couple of minutes it was tit-for-tat and thankfully we came out the right side.”
