The Tipperary senior footballers suffered their second defeat of the season last night.
The Premier were beaten by Limerick in Rathkeale in their Division 4 encounter on a full-time score line of 2-21 to 3-08.
Tipp’s goals came from Sean O’Connor and two from Micheál Freaney but it wasn’t enough to overcome the home side.
Philly Ryan’s side’s chances were hampered with injuries in the game to Sean O’Connor and Luke Boland whilst captain Steven O’Brien, who had been named to start, did not feature in the game.
The Tipp manager said they simply weren’t good enough last night.
“We were off the mark tonight. The scoreboard doesn’t lie unfortunately. We were way behind the pace of the game tonight. I can’t explain why – we were in it and then Seanie O’Connor one of the main marksmen goes down.
“We’ve had an awful run of injuries – we lost a couple of lads this week and we’re not getting them back as quick as we’d like.”
Next up for Tipperary is a trip to Wexford on Saturday March 15th.
