However points from captain Ned O’Meara, Reuben Grace and a two pointer from O’Meara set the stage for the comeback which was completed when Dylan McCormack scored a goal from a 68th minute penalty which was followed by jubilant celebrations.

The victory means Tipp qualify for the Daryl Darcy cup final next Monday where they will play Clare once again, with both teams qualifying for phase 2 of the Munster championship where Cork and Kerry enter the competition.
