Tipperary senior football manager Philly Ryan will be absent from the sidelines this weekend.
The Premier take on Sligo in the opening round of the Tailteann Cup on Sunday at 1.30pm in Tubbercurry.
Clonmel native Ryan underwent hip surgery last week and informed players that he won’t be able to make the trip up to Sligo.
Philly says it will be difficult not being at the game this weekend.
“Sunday will be difficult, I’ll be on edge hoping that everything goes well.
“I’m involved in the plans from the start to the finish and I’ll be joining yourselves (on Tipp FM) I hope for the game because I don’t have any other stream to watch it on.
“I’d say I will probably be pacing with two crutches around the kitchen and kicking every ball and going through every move.
“So yeah, it will be strange for me but it will be enjoyable and I have no doubt that there’s a good team in place that will look after the lads.”
Tipp FM will have live commentary of Sunday’s game with thanks to Tipperary County Council, reminding motorist to watch out for Walkers and Cyclists on the brighter evenings. Concentrate on the road and not on your mobile phone.
