Tipp footballers should be happy with their haul of 3 points from their opening games in the National League.
That’s the view of analyst Tom McGrath following a draw and a win so far in Division 4.
They opened with a share of the points away to Carlow and backed it up with a win over Longford at the weekend in the Clonmel Sportsfield last weekend.
Speaking on last night’s Extra Time here on Tipp FM Tom said there are a lot of positives to be taken.
“The thing to learn from the League so far is if you’re shipping 2 pointers, well what do you do? You’ve two options – you respond with 2 pointers or else you’ve got to get goals. The 2 pointers are big scores now and we’re holding our own with anybody in those areas. It’s making football a lot more of a spectacle from what it has been.
“The Tipperary side is a young team with a number of leaders there in the middle of them and I’m delighted for them.”
Next up for Philly Ryan’s is a trip to the Fraher Field in Dungarvan to face Waterford.
