The Killarney men led 0-04 to 0-03 at half time but took control in the second half to win their 9th Munster senior title.

Speaking after the game, Loughmore manager Shane Hennessy admitted they weren’t at their best.

“Ah look we’re disappointed. We didn’t come here to be beaten – we came here to win and it didn’t work out.

“We’re massively disappointed – probably didn’t hit the heights of our best football but at the same time Dr Crokes didn’t let us. They’re seasoned campaigners, they know what they’re about and they has their homework done on us. They knew where we were strong and they were able to stop us there. Is suppose one of our strong players John McGrath wasn’t 100% either so that was disappointing that his influence on the game was curbed a little bit as well.”
