Defending champions Clonmel Commercials were 2-16 to 8 point winners over Arravale Rovers.
Also in Group 3 Loughmore-Castleiney beat Killenaule on a scoreline of 1-10 to 7 points
In group 1 it finished Ardfinnan 1-8 to 10 points for Kilsheelan-Kilcash
Newcomers Grangemockler-Ballyneale lost out year’s beaten finalists JK Brackens – the final score in Cashel 1-12 to 6 points.
