The strength of schools camogie in Tipp was evident last weekend with two Thurles schools battling it out for the Munster A title.
The Presentation avenged their defeat in last year’s decider as they beat the Ursuline.
Victorious manager Cian Treacy told Ronan Quirke on last night’s Extra Time that it bodes well for the future of camogie in the Premier.
“Seven of the last eight winners have been Tipperary schools – Cashel were involved in that seven along with the Ursuline and ourselves so really, really strong.
“We’re just so proud of their efforts and what they’ve brought to our school over the last six years. This journey started for these girls during Covid times and we just had this dream that this group were going to win a Munster Senior A championship.”
The Presentation will now turn their attention to the All Ireland series.
Loreto Kilkenny are their next opponents with Cian Treacy saying they are under no illusions as to the task that lies ahead.
“Camogie kingpins – the last two years they’ve won the All Ireland senior championship and have a really formidable team again. That’s on the 1st of February but really for us I think the Munster final was our huge goal at the start of the year and we really just wanted redemption for last year”
