The Tipperary senior camogie squad will be using last year’s disappointment as fuel for 2025.
That’s according to forward Eimear Heffernan who’s been speaking ahead of next week’s Ashbourne Cup first round.
The Knockavilla clubwoman has featured in the last two Ashbourne Cup team of the year’s following her performances with UCC.
In 2024, Tipperary won the Division 1 league final against Galway but would go on to lose the All-Ireland semi-final to the Tribeswomen by a single point.
Speaking at the launch of the Electric Ireland Camogie Third Level Championships, Eimear Heffernan says that loss, along with the addition of younger players to the panel, is driving the squad forward this year.
“The semi-final, losing by a point after winning the whole way during the match, it wasn’t a nice dressing room to be in but for next year we’re kind of using that devastation and driving it on further.
“We have new players in the team as well, a lot from the minor team who won the All-Ireland last year and the junior team as well who won the All-Ireland.
“That’s bringing a bit of freshness into the squad and driving us forward for next year.”
The full interview with Eimear Heffernan will feature on tonight’s Across The Line at 6pm.
