Disappointing night for Irish sides in Europa League

It was a disappointing night for the Irish sides in Europa League action last night.

Both Cork City and Shamrock Rovers will need to score away from home next week if they’re to avoid exits at the second qualifying round stage.

Cork fell to a 1-nil defeat to A-E-K Larnaca at Turner’s Cross.

While Rovers lost 3-2 at home to Mlada Boleslav (PR: M’lad-aah Bol-ess-lav) of the Czech Republic.

Incredibly it was Cork’s first defeat of the season, as they’re unbeaten in the league and into the semi-finals of the EA Sports Cup.
