Davy Russell suspended for punch

Jockey Davy Russell has been given a four day suspension for striking a horse at Tramore last month.

Russell initially received a caution, but the appeals body was asked to review the sanction on the grounds that it was unduly lenient.

The Youghal man will be free to ride at the Listowel festival, which begins on Sunday, as his suspension will not start until September 19th.
