Dylan Slevin is in action at the PDC World Darts Championship this evening.
The Borrisokane man is taking on Limerick’s William O’Connor in their first round tie at the Alexandra Palace, London.
The two players know each other well, with Slevin having practiced with the Cappamore man ahead of his ‘Ally Pally’ debut last year.
Speaking to Tipp FM, Dylan says he’ll be treating this evening’s game in front of 3,000 people as if it’s just another practice session.
“That’s what I have been saying to myself in the weeks leading up to it to just go up and think you’re playing him in a practice session there in Cappamore, you’re in his house and you’re just practicing, it’s me him and the dartboard, there’s no one else around.
“That’s what I have been saying to myself to do so hopefully it’s not as nerve-wracking, knowing Willie and practicing with him so many times I’ll just go into it as if we’re going in for a practice session.”
Tonight’s game is expected to get underway at around 9pm.
