The 59th running of the Carrick Cup drew large numbers of cyclists and spectators alike today.

The Iverk Produce Carrick Wheeler's promoted event saw nearly 300 riders take to the startline between the three events.

The A1 – A2 race in Carrick on Suir ended in a bunch sprint with Planet Tri's Paudie O'Brien just edging out Simon Ryan of Visit Nenagh.ie with Michael Lucey of the host club rounding out the podium at the end of the 66 miles.

The A3 race went the way of Dylan Foley who is part of the Nicolas Roche Junior Development Squad – he finished alone ahead of Killarney's Denis O'Shea with Iverk Carrick Wheelers Owen Green in third.

The A4 race – which had 125 starters – was won by the comeback man Barry Meehan of Worldwide Cycles in Clonmel. This is Barry's second win out of 3 races this season after an 8 year break from the sport.

Second was Michael Crowley of Planet Tri with Patrick Clifford of Killarney in 3rd.
