A crash on the very last corner on today’s final stage of the Tour of Turkey has robbed Sam Bennett of the Green Points jersey.
The Carrick on Suir rider went into the last day on the back of 4 wins from the first 5 stages and was favourite to add to his tally today.
However the Bora Hansgrohe sprinter fell on the final corner just metres from the finish when he looked set to record his 11th victory of 2017.
The stage was won by Edward Theuns of Trek Segafredo who also snatched the overall points classification from Bennett who has to make do with just 4 wins out of 6 stages!
The overall victory went to Diego Ulissi of Team UAE Emirates.
