Tipperary’s Sam Bennett is back in action today as he lines up for stage one of the Tour de la Provence.

The 170 kilometre opener is the toughest stage of the 3-day race with the Carrick sprinter hoping to stay in contention with another hilly stage tomorrow before Sundays flat stage

His Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale team was one of many to withdraw from the recent 5-day Etoile de Bessèges over safety concerns about the race.
