Tipperary cyclist Sam Bennett picked up the 70th win of his professional career yesterday.
The Deceuninck – AG2R La Mondiale rider took victory on the 208 kilometres opening stage of the Région Pays de la Loire Tour in France.

The Carrick man paid tributes to his team mates for putting him in the right position to unleash his sprint.
Bennett will wear the leaders jersey on todays 158 kilometre second stage while he also leads the Points classification.
Fellow Irishman Dillon Corkery of St Michel – Preference Home – Auber93 took third yesterday.
