Ballybacon-Grange clubman, Brendan Cummins, who retired from intercounty hurling in 2013, thinks Tipp are particularly well served by those currently competing to wear the No 1 jersey – Darragh Mooney, Brian Hogan and Darren Gleeson, who played in last weekend's National League win over Dublin.

Tipperary have recorded a positive start to 2016 with their first competitive win under new manager Michael Ryan at the weekend in the National Hurling League.

Cummins says the current situation is very similar to the one he faced during the latter part of his Tipp career.
