The West Tipp side take on Cork’s Watergrasshill in the Munster intermediate hurling final at 6pm in the Gaelic Grounds.
Cashel are aiming for a second provincial title in the club’s history, having won the 1991 senior hurling decider.
Speaking on last night’s Across The Line, Cashel manager TJ Connolly says there’s plenty of excitement around the town ahead of this evening’s final:
“The vibe has been good around the town, around the field and around the panel of players.
“Of course we set out to try and win the county final and that’s been achieved but now that we’ve got on to this role we don’t want it to stop.
“We want to stay going as long as we can, we know some day maybe down the line it mightn’t always work out for us but we’re certainly really looking forward to going to Limerick.
“I know it’s under lights, it’s different to want we are used to but it’s different as well for Watergrasshill.”
The Cork side are managed by Thurles native and former All-Ireland winner with Tipperary Eddie Enright.
TJ Connolly knows he will have the Cork side ready for the task:
“I know Eddie Enright and the kind of hurling man he is, a brilliant hurling person and a great hurler himself and I’m sure he has these boys primed.
“There’s six or seven of that panel on the Imokilly panel and three or four of them on the team so that’s no mean feet, a few of them boys have county senior medals in their back pocket coming into this tie so it’s mouthwatering I have to say.”
Tipp FM will have live commentary of this evening’s final from 6pm with thanks to Mother Hubbards, family restaurant on the old Cork road, Cashel.
