Ireland's premier stage race continues with the An Post Rás heading for West Cork.
Stage 5 is taking the remaining 142 riders from Caherciveen to Clonakilty.
A number of riders failed to make the start line this morning due to illness or injuries sustained in a number of crashes yesterday.
Among those falling foul of a bug that has hit the peleton was Visit Nenagh.ie's David McCarthy who had been leading the Category 2 rider classification.
Tomorrow the race heads to Carrick on Suir with the stage ending on top of the famous Seskin Hill.
Meanwhile the chances have improved of a Tipperary rider taking part in the Tour de France which starts on July 5th.
Carrick on Suir's Sam Bennett has moved a step closer to making his Grand Tour debut.
The Team NetApp Endura rider has been included in their 14 man long-list for the Tour de France.
The German based team have notched up two wins so far this season – both of them coming from 23 year old Bennett.
With just six weeks to go before the start of the Tour de France in Leeds the teams goals are a stage win and a top 15 position in the General Classification.
