Yasmani Copello finished first in heat number 4 of the event, with Barr accelerating in the final 100 metres to qualify automatically for tomorrow's semi-final.

Earlier this morning, Mark English has progressed safely through his heat to book a spot in the mens 800m in this year's IAAF World Championships.
English finished 5th in his heat but qualified as a fastest loser to progress.
The semi-finals will take place tomorrow at about 1.30pm Irish Time.
