Shane O' Donnell became an instant legend, with the 19 year old- who was only announced as a late inclusion in the forward line for Darach Honan- hitting a first half hat-trick.
At one stage in the second half Cork rallied and hit a number of unanswered points to draw level with Davy Fitzgerlad's side.
But late goals from Conor McGrath and sub Honan sealed the Banner's first All-Ireland title since 1997 and the fourth in their history.
A massive homecoming celebration is planned in Ennis Co Clare this evening for the All Ireland hurling champions.
The Clare senior and under 21s hurlers will see thousands of their fans descend on Tim Smythe Park for an evening of entertainment.
The celebrations will be be broadcast to worldwide audiences on the Ennis App.
