Clonmel athlete Willie Maunsell has big plans for the coming year

Willie had an incredible 2024 which included running the fastest ever marathon on the continent of Antarctica, completing the run in a time of 2:38:42.

He also ran five marathons in five different continents with an average time of 2 hours 35 minutes in November.

On this week’s Extra Time here on Tipp FM the Clonmel AC man outlined his plans for a fast marathon towards the end of the year.

“Well I’m back training now for a marathon or a half marathon in April – I haven’t decided.

Then I’m going to maybe run at the end of the year (in) Berlin and the Valencia marathons – they’re two fast ones. You could run 2:10 in Valencia and finish 50th.
