Tipp led by 3-9 to 0-6 at half time but Kilkenny fought back strongly in the second half.

Meanwhile the search is on for a new management team for the Tipperary Senior Hurlers.

Manager Declan Ryan, Coach Tommy Dunne and Selector Michael Gleeson have stepped down as the Tipperary senior hurling management team having completed their 2 year term.

They have informed the Tipp County Board that they do not wish to be considered for re-appointment.

A committee led by County Chairman, Sean Nugent, will now commence the search for a new senior hurling management team.

Tipp won two Munster titles under Declan Ryan and his management team.
