19 Tipperary clubs receive grants from Munster Council

19 Tipperary clubs are set to receive grants from the Munster Council.

The Munster Council, in conjuction with the Central Council have approved of a €1.3 million fund for Club Development Grants for the province in 2024.

19 clubs in the Premier county are to benefit from the fund, which covers a number of works such as land purchases, dressing room and gym developments and pitch developments among others.

In total, €235,013 has been allocated to Tipperary with Kilruane MacDonaghs receiving €30,000 whilst €20,000 has been set aside for eight clubs including Thurles Sarsfields, Solohead, Boherlahan-Dualla, Knockavilla Kickhams, Drom-Inch, Éire Óg Annacarty, Carrick Swan and Borrisokane.

Munster GAA Chairman Ger Ryan said “I am delighted to announce the awarding of over €1.3 million in grants supporting 96 development projects throughout Munster. These grants have supported an impressive range of capital development projects, with Clubs investing over €10 million in upgrading their facilities.

“This level of expenditure is testament to the strength of the GAA in the Province and reflects the impressive vision of our Clubs to continually improve facilities for players and supporters alike.”

He added “The grants provided would not be possible without the great support we get from the many thousands of people who attend our games each year. We are very fortunate to have such loyal support in the Province, and we are delighted to be able to redistribute income from games to the Clubs.”

Category 1 – land purchase
Category 2 – dressing room and gym developments
Category 3 – refurbishment of handball courts
Category 4 – pitch development, floodlighting & hurling wall developments
