Dr Eugene O’Brien – Editing Roald Dahl

Recently it was announced that some of the novels of Roald Dahl, the popular children’s author, had been edited to eliminate words, phrases and sentiments that readers might find upsetting. We’ve had a lot of mixed reactions on the show from our listeners.

Dr Eugene O’Brien is the Head of English Language and Literature at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick.
