Youth due back in court over Clogheen assault

An 18 year old man is due back in court today charged with assault following an incident which has left a 66 year old man in critical condition in hospital. 

Graham Meagher of Kilcaroon, Clogheen, was brought before a special sitting of Cashel district court on Saturday evening following the incident last Thursday.

PJ Kelly suffered a serious head injury during an incident at his home near Ballyporeen last Thursday afternoon….he was taken by ambulance to South Tipperary General Hospital before being transferred to Cork University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition. 

18 year old Graham Meagher with an address of Kilcaroon, Clogheen was arrested on Thursday night in Cahir and brought before a special sitting of Cashel District Court on Saturday evening charged with assault causing harm to Mr Kelly. 

Judge Terrance Finn remanded Mr Meagher in custody, to appear before Cashel district court this morning.
