Women marrying younger than men

Women are more likely to be married than single by the age of 33 – while for men it’s 35.

The CSO has released the latest batch of stats from last year’s census.

The number of married people is up 5 percent in five years, and they now make up 48 percent of the population.

There were 9 percent more separated and divorced people in 2016 than when the last census was taken in 2011.
