West Tipperary village aiming to Ireland’s next Irish speaking town

A small Tipperary village is appealing for a final push of votes to a TG4 show, aimed at reviving the Irish language.

Lisvernane has reached the final of the GTEAM competition and is now competing with Donabate in Dublin, for the €40 thousand prize.

The competition began a year ago, and Lisvernane has beaten off the challenge of 120 towns and villages attempting to become Irelands next Irish speaking town.

Paddy O'Shea who is involved in the camapign, is also Principal at Kilross National school, he says, while they are confident, the outcome  of the competition will have no bearing on their intentions to revive the language.

And you can vote for Lisvernane by texting TEAM L to 53305.
