Welcome for school grants for repairs

Education Minister Richard Bruton has confirmed that 159 Primary Schools in the Premier County will receive the funds over the coming weeks.

The grant is worth €5,500 per school plus €18.50 per mainstream pupil and €74 for each special needs student.

Cahir Boys National School with 167 pupils will receive over €8,500.

Principal and INTO Central Executive Committee member Brendan Horan says the money will be well spent in carrying out repairs to windows or footpaths around the 50 year old school.
