Weather warning for Tipperary.

Between 25 and 35 millimetres of rain is forecast for the county this afternoon with spots of flash flooding also expected.

The yellow alert is in place for Tipperary, Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Laois and Wexford.

Drivers are being asked to slow down and allow extra time for their journeys.

Gerry Murphy – a Meteorologist with Met Eireann says there's also a risk of thundery conditions today.

He is advising people not stay out in the open or under trees or anywhere lightning is likely to strike.

Motorists are also reminded to be aware of possible spot flooding during heavy downpours.
