The ESB says it could be Wednesday night before power is restored to some homes in Tipperary following Storm Éowyn.
There are still in the region of 5,500 still without electricity in the Premier – mostly in the north of the county
Nationally around 100,000 homes and businesses could still be without power next week.
Crews from the UK are expected to arrive this week to help with the remaining 246,000 outages following Storm Éowyn.
That’s down from a peak of 768,000 on Friday – with the ESB describing it as “by far the worst storm” it’s ever experienced in terms of customers losing supply and the scale of damage to the network.
Meanwhile drivers should take extra care on the way to work or school this morning.
There are fears Storm Herminia which blew in from Spain yesterday could have brought down more trees loosened by the record winds of Storm Éowyn on Friday.
Neighbouring counties Cork, and Waterford – as well as Kerry remain under a yellow level wind warning until 9am while in Wexford the warning is in place until 2pm
If you do come across downed trees or power lines Tipperary County Council Senior Engineer James Murray says you should immediately contact the local authority or emergency services.
