Road users in Tipperary are being urged to use extreme caution this morning as sub-zero temperatures across much of the county.
There’s an orange snow and ice warning in place for Tipp, Limerick, Clare and Galway – however up to now the Premier appears to have escaped any major snowfall with just brief flurries reported in parts of the county.
However the Met Éireann weather alert remains in place until midday.
Travel disruption is expected on some routes, with some flooding possible in Munster.
Tipperary County Council’s winter maintenance programme is in operation to treat priority routes around the County.
Met Eireann weather warnings will be monitored during the event. The Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team has met to assess the situation and ensure all necessary arrangements are put in place in advance of this severe weather event.
