It’s been confirmed that Tipperary County Council will draw up a plan to get more community involvement in the response to extreme weather events.

Cllr John O’Heney has been calling for a more community centred action plan since the snows that left some local communities cut off for a week.

He says the plan should include getting farmers and agricultural contractors involved in clearing roads that the local authority can’t get to.

Cllr O’Heney has welcomed the news that the council will try and develop an improved plan and says it must be possible to do it in a practical way.
