Just a handful of Tipperary homes still without power

Tipperary County Council is thanking people across the county for heeding the warnings during Storm Éowyn.

A man was killed in Donegal when a falling tree hit his car but there were no major incident’s reported in the Premier County.

Just over 30 local households and businesses are without power in Tipp this morning – this compared with around 9,000 last Saturday morning.

Uisce Éireann says everyone should have water but 11,000 homes, farms and businesses are under Boil Water Notices.

The local authority has set up a dedicated phone number for vulnerable people to find help in the aftermath of Storm Éowyn

People in isolated communities and households can ring 0818 06 50 01 to be linked up with assistance from various government and council departments.

Director of Services Sharon Kennedy says the council’s efforts to were helped by locals sheltering at home.
