Structural damage is being reported by Gardaí in Clonmel.
The roof is said to have come off the Lidl store on the Davis Road while roofs are lifting on premises in Irishtown, O’Connell Street and Gladstone Street.
People are being urged not to venture outside unless it’s absolutely necessary.
Emergency services are already working at full capacity today.
