Electricity restored to thousands of homes in Tipperary

ESB crews have made significant inroads in restoring power to the thousands of homes and businesses in Tipperary which were impacted by the severe weather.

According to the ESB Networks power-check there are now fewer than 700 still without electricity in the Premier County – down from 5,000 yesterday.

Uisce Éireann has also confirm that 17,000 local homes, farms and businesses across Tipp have no water as a result of the weather.

Some are not expected to get normal supply restored until tomorrow and spokesperson Colin Cunningham says customer should keep in touch with the latest updates and report any new problems immediately.
